All new infections on the Chinese mainland are incoming cases, which puts more pressure on the authorities to screen travelers at important travel centers.
The National Health Commission said the Chinese mainland had reported 34 new cases, up from 13 in the previous day.
Of the 34 cases reported, 21 were recorded in Beijing, which is a record for the Chinese capital.
The committee stated in a statement today, Thursday, that the total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland brings this to 80,928 cases.
In central Hubei Province, 8 new deaths were recorded, including 6 deaths in Wuhan, the provincial capital.
