The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics said today, Thursday, that consumer price inflation in Egyptian cities recorded 3.6% last August, compared to 6.7% in the same period in 2020 .
The general consumer price index in Egypt reached 107.4 points at the end of last August, recording a decrease of (-0.3%) compared to July 2020.
In a statement issued today, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization attributed the decline to the decrease in the prices of the fruit group by (-10.4%), and the meat and poultry group by (-4.4%) ), The fish and seafood group by (-2.7%), the vegetables group by (-2.6%), the clothes and shoes group by (-0.3%), and the ready meals group by (-0.3%).
This decrease came despite the increase in the prices of the transportation services group by (7.4%), the group of products, devices and medical equipment by (3.2%), and the hospital services group by ( A group of personal effects by (1.8%), a group of goods and services used in home maintenance by (0.5%), a group of outpatient services by (0.4%), a group of water and various services related to housing by (0.4%), and a group of The house rent is (0.1%).
The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics will soon announce the general consumer price index for the total of the republic for last August.
