The total value of the cash dividends for 55 Emirati companies listed in the financial markets amounted to about 37 billion dirhams as of March 30, 2020.
According to the Emirates News Agency, the number of companies that decided to distribute cash dividends to their shareholders until March 30 formed about 49% of the total number of companies listed in the Abu Dhabi and Dubai financial markets, knowing that the number is expected to rise in the coming days, especially in light of the awaiting the announcement of more company boards Of its dividends for the month of April.
The latest updates to the dividend figures show that the banking sector is still the first place, with the value of the dividends of 11 banks amounting to 19.1 billion dirhams for the profits of the year 2019, noting that 6 banks have not announced their dividends so far.
Bank distributions that disclosed their distributions to shareholders constitute about 51.6% of the total distributions announced to date by 55 companies listed in the financial markets.
The first Abu Dhabi Bank and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank accounted for 55.7% of the total dividends in the banking sector, where the value of the first dividends amounted to 8 billion dirhams, while for the second it reached 2.64 billion dirhams, according to data from the two banks.
The distributions of the telecommunications sector came in second place with a value of 8.5 billion dirhams, which constitutes approximately 23% of the total distributions announced so far, while the real estate sector distributions amounted to 3.3 billion dirhams.
At the level of the consumer services companies sector, the value of their dividends amounted to 2.62 billion dirhams, followed by the sectors of investment, finance, transportation, logistics, insurance, energy, construction, health services and hospitality, respectively.
It is noteworthy that a number of general assemblies of companies held their meetings and approved the distributions, while other associations are still in the process of convening in the coming days to approve the recommendations of their boards of directors with distributions.
