The legal guardian of NMC Healthcare confirmed that the company would not undergo liquidation procedures.
According to the newspaper, the statement, Richard Fleming, the managing director of Alvarez and Marshall of America Professional Services, which was appointed as legal guardian of NMC under a ruling issued by a British court last Thursday, sent a letter to the company’s employees, who exceed 15 thousand people, clarifying Liquidation usually means closing a business, and selling its assets in exchange for the largest possible amount, to pay off the debts owed to the business’s creditors, but this will not happen in this case.
He stressed that legal guardianship is not like liquidation, but rather a means by which the management of a company experiencing financial difficulties is passed to a licensed professional. The trustees are three seasoned professionals, belonging to a global company specialized in financial consulting, and their mission is to stabilize the trusty facility and maintain its business. He said that in the case of NMC, and given its importance in the health care system in the UAE, keeping the work of the company is a vital social priority.
Fleming added: The most important point at this point is that all hospitals, medical centers, care units and distribution services will not be affected by the appointment of guardians. Accordingly, its current activities will not change as the current period is very difficult.
After referring to the role of the company's cadres in the face of the Corona pandemic, he confirmed work to ensure the stability of the company's business, and to ensure that all employees receive their salaries as usual.
