The German government has decided to subsidize electric car maker Tesla with 1.14 billion euros ($1.35 billion), directed at the battery-cell factory in Gruenheide, according to Der Der newspaper. German Tagesspiegel, without specifying where you got this information from.

The process of determining the amount of funding Tesla will receive is not complete yet, the Federal Ministry of Economy told the newspaper, adding that a decision is planned for the fourth quarter.
The ministry expects to invest a total of 5 billion euros in the battery factory located east of Berlin, in order to create about 2,000 potential jobs, the newspaper added.
