Egypt, the largest importer of wheat in the world, is working to increase its storage capacity by constructing more silos in recent years.
The Egyptian Ministry of Supply denied at the end of last week what was reported regarding the use of flour that is not suitable for human consumption in the production of fortified bread.
The Ministry clarified that the flour that is discharged to bakeries that produce subsidized bread is completely safe and secure, and conforms to all of the stipulated quality specifications.
She confirmed that she is launching periodic monitoring campaigns on all bakeries to control any manipulation, while taking all legal measures against violators.
The ministry said that there is a strategic stock of wheat intended for flour production that satisfies the needs of consumers for more than 4 months.
