British Finance Minister Rishi Sonak expected Britain's GDP to drop to 30% due to the Corona crisis.

According to Reuters, the Times newspaper reported that Sonak told his colleagues that gross domestic product could fall to as much as 30 percent between April and June.

Sonak called on cabinet members to ease restrictions on public isolation amid the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

The newspaper added that Sonak discussed the possibility of a decline between 25 and 30 percent of gross domestic product during the second quarter and said that ten ministers are pushing for the easing of isolation measures next month.

The report did not specify these ministers.

The newspaper quoted a minister as saying that it is important that we do not end up causing more harm because of public isolation. We're looking at another three weeks of general isolation and then we can start mitigating it. The newspaper did not give the name of the minister.
