Brazilian airline Azul said on Wednesday that it had signed a codeshare agreement with Emirates Airlines.
Azul is Brazil's third largest airline, and flies to more cities in the South American country than any of its competitors.
Emirates Airlines operates five flights a week to Sao Paulo from its hub in Dubai using Boeing 777 aircraft.
The Emirates News Agency (WAM) stated that the codeshare agreement will allow customers to travel to and from eight Brazilian cities on flights operated by Azul, as well as connect in Sao Paulo with Air Emirates to continue traveling to and through Dubai with one ticket.
Brazil is an important market for us, and our cooperation with Azul confirms Emirates' commitment to enhancing our access to the region and opening more of choices for our customers and providing improved, seamless and convenient connectivity between eight cities in Brazil to and from Dubai and our global network via São Paulo.
