The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange index declined at the close of trading on Wednesday amid uncertainty over developments in the Middle East.
According to trading data, the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange index closed today's session down by 0.912%, losing 92.11 points, to end trading at 10006.17 points.
The session witnessed active trading, with total liquidity reaching AED 1.106 billion, through a trading volume of 300.325 million shares, distributed across 24,139 thousand transactions.
The market capitalization of listed shares declined to AED 2.921 trillion by the end of today’s session, compared to AED 2.939 trillion in yesterday’s session, a decrease of AED 18 billion, representing a decline of approximately 0.61%.
The session saw declining stocks outnumbering rising stocks; shares of 28 companies rose, while shares of 47 companies declined, and shares of 58 companies remained unchanged.
In terms of stock performance, Investment Bank's stock topped the list of the most declining stocks with a 3.125% decrease, while Fujairah Cement Industries' stock led the list of the most rising stocks with a 7% increase.
On the most active side, ADNOC Logistics shares led trading in terms of value at around 163.27 million dirhams, while Investment Bank shares led in terms of volume at around 64.95 million shares.
The performance of sectors on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) was mixed at the close of trading today. The healthcare sector led the gainers, rising 2.44%, followed by basic materials (1.16%), telecommunications (0.61%), real estate (0.55%), technology (0.50%), industrials (0.40%), energy (0.26%), and finally consumer goods (0.14%). Conversely, the consumer discretionary sector led the decliners, falling 1%.
