According to Reuters, Port Arthur's mayor Derek Freeman said that the city is negotiating with Motiva to sell a downtown hotel that will be re-equipped for occupancy by the third quarter of 2021. p>
Motiva's spokeswoman, Angela Godwin, said the company's real estate broker discussed the possibility of buying the Sabine Hotel with a city council body working to redevelop the Port Arthur Central area. < / p>
The company's 603,000bpd refinery is located 4 kilometers west of the center of Port Arthur.
Motiva is considering adding a chemical plant to the refinery, knowing that the company’s headquarters are in Houston, 144 kilometers west of Port Arthur.
