Amazon has opened a warehouse in the Tenth of Ramadan City in Sharkia Governorate in Egypt, bringing the company's investments to one billion pounds.

The renovated warehouse, located on an area of ​​28,000 square meters, is part of the company's vice president for the Middle East and North Africa region, Ronaldo Mouchawar, said. The company's investments in the field of logistics services in the Egyptian market.

He pointed out during a ceremony yesterday, Tuesday, attended by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, that the warehouse aims to provide a faster shopping and delivery experience to meet the demands of online shopping customers, and it will also facilitate Delivering more products to a larger segment of customers in Egypt than ever before.

At the same time, the company's vice president noted that the company invests more than one billion pounds in Egypt, provides more than 3,000 jobs, and owns more than 15 delivery stations. At the level of the Republic, the Egyptian market ranks first in terms of Amazon investments in the African continent.

He pointed out that Amazon's new investments confirm the company's firm and continuing commitment to supporting and strengthening the economic sector; The company is keen to bring the best technologies and logistical innovations to the region, which will promote the level of the e-commerce sector and its prosperity.

For his part, Omar Al-Sahi, general manager of Amazon and Souq.com in Egypt, indicated that this warehouse is the first of its kind in Africa, pointing out that Amazon's investments in modern infrastructure, advanced technology, and high-level services are in line with the Egyptian government's work program, noting at the same time that the company is working to support small and medium-sized companies in Egypt to expand their business online.

He stressed that Amazon supports the digital transformation process in Egypt, through a series of advanced updates on the various operations in its warehouse.

He said that Amazon's investments in the field of logistics led to an increase in the storage capacity of its warehouse in the Tenth of Ramadan City, in preparation for the launch of the Amazon Egypt website.
