According to the newspaper, the Japanese automaker's spokesperson Kinsuke Kuo said in an e-mail that the factories in Changchun and Guangzhou would resume work on Monday, while operations in Tianjin would resume the next day. He said that work at Chengdu factory would resume next week.


Bloomberg News reported that the spread of the virus affected the global economy, as some major automakers extended factories closures amid a shortage of parts as efforts to combat the disease outbreak impeded the influx of workers.


The Japanese car company Honda Motor had also announced earlier that it intends to resume manufacturing operations in China on Monday.
