The Italian company Eni announced a new oil discovery, and new production started in the southwestern Maliha concession, in the Western Desert of Egypt.

She added that she had drilled a new well near existing production facilities, and was ready to connect to the production network.

According to Arabiya Net, the company clarified in a statement that production from the Southwest Mleiha concession started mid-2019, and within one year the production was accelerated to 12 thousand Barrels per day, as a result of new discoveries.

The company announced, at the beginning of this month, the discovery of a new gas field in the concession area, north of Hammad, Bushroush, in the Egyptian waters in the Nile Delta in the Mediterranean.

She said that the new discovery is located at a depth of 22 meters and 11 km from the coast, 12 km northwest of the Nawras field, and about 1 km west of the Baltim field Southwest.

She pointed out that the well discovered a gas column with a thickness of 152 meters inside the sandstones in the Mycenaean era to form Abu Madi with excellent petrophysical properties, noting that the well will be tested for production, It emphasizes the potential of gas and condensate in shallow Egyptian marine waters.
