The company also recorded an increase in the pace of implementation of its investment plans, especially with regard to projects for the deployment of the fifth generation network and the expansion of the optical fiber network across the Emirates, where its total annual capital expenditures reached 1.5 billion dirhams.


This positive performance is due to the increase in the percentage of postpaid subscribers in the customer base that contributed to improving the profit margin in addition to improving the level of efficiency in business management.


Based on its financial results for the fourth quarter and for the fiscal year 2019, the company’s board of directors recommended distributing annual cash dividends to shareholders of 34 fils per share, and the company distributed them in August 2019 in the form of semi-annual profits of 13 fils per share.


With regard to profits before deduction of interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, it amounted to 5.68 billion dirhams, an increase of 1% when comparing similarly, which confirms that the company was able to absorb the pressure on its revenues through many initiatives that led to enhancing the efficiency of cost management.


Total capital expenditures increased by 46.8% to reach 1.5 billion dirhams, or 12% of total revenue, reflecting the company's continuation of its programs and investment plans in the development of the fifth generation network and the expansion of the optical fiber network in addition to projects to update the IT infrastructure and digital transformation initiatives. < / p>


The fixed-line subscriber base continued to grow to reach 219,000 subscribers at the end of 2019, an annual increase of 7.1% compared to last year, while the mobile subscriber base saw a beginning of stability with the decrease in the impact of the subscriber's SIM registration campaign in the fourth quarter of the year, and the company also continued Focus on attracting high-value mobile postpaid customers that supported average annual revenue per user [1], which rose by 4.3%.
