The General Organization for Grains in Saudi Arabia has completed the procedures for awarding the second batch of imported wheat for the current year with a quantity of 620 thousand tons of hard wheat.

The Foundation said in a statement on its official website, today, Monday, that the wheat was purchased from the origins of the European Union, Australia, and South and North America (except Canada). < / p>

The Governor of the Foundation, Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris, said in a statement to him today, that the contract for this installment comes within the framework of covering local needs and maintaining the strategic reserve of wheat.

He added: The arrival of the second contract scheduled for this year will be during the period (July - 10 September 2019) and by (10) ships, distributed on (6) ships to Jeddah port. Islamic with a quantity of (370) thousand tons, and the number (4) of ships for King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam with a quantity of (250) thousand tons.

Al-Faris reported that (21) international companies specializing in grain trade had been invited by (13) companies to compete for the offered quantity, which allowed the institution to obtain competitive prices. And it was awarded to (5) international companies.
