The leaders of the US Congress from both Republican and Democratic parties are trying to reach an agreement on a bill to allocate more than a trillion dollars to confront the Corona virus.

According to Reuters, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the Republicans and Democrats are far apart.

The bill, the third effort by Congress to limit the economic impact of the Corona virus in the United States, proposes financial aid to US citizens, small businesses and companies that have been severely affected, including airlines.

The virus has killed 342 people and infected more than 25,000 others in the United States, prompting state governors and mayors to close schools, businesses, and many aspects of American life.

Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin expected the White House and Congress to reach an agreement. Republican Senator Pat Tomey indicated that there would be little opposition to the bill.

"I think it will be very difficult to vote against this project," Tommy told NBC television.

However, there are clear differences. The meeting brought together lawmakers, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Democrats Pelosi, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Pelosi told reporters upon arrival to attend the talks at McConnell's office, when asked if there was agreement, in my view, we were far apart.
