US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced on Tuesday the imposition of sanctions on the Russian company (Rosneft) for its work in the Venezuelan oil sector.

Minister Pompeo said in a statement that his country imposed sanctions on the company (Rosneft) for trade, a company registered in Switzerland and owned by Russian people, where it has many activities in the sector Venezuelan oil.

He added that this measure was taken to stop the theft of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's regime of Venezuelan origins.

He continued that the US sanctions also affected the company’s chairman and chairman, Didier Casimir, who is also the vice president of the (Rosneft) refining and petrochemicals trade and transport and logistics division.

Pompeo, as the chief mediator of global deals to sell and transport Venezuelan crude, explained that (Rosneft) supported the dictator Maduro, which enabled him to suppress the Venezuelan people.

He reiterated that Maduro destroyed the institutions, economy, and infrastructure of Venezuela.

He mentioned that the people of Venezuela will continue to demand freedom and adherence to the rule of law, stressing that the United States is committed to standing with the Venezuelan people until democracy and prosperity is restored in Venezuela. p>
