Ukraine has received $15 million in cryptocurrency donations to be spent on military supplies.

According to Arabiya Net, the Ukrainian government expects the donations it has received via cryptocurrency to double from the current $50 million, in the next 2-3 days.

Ukraine received most of the donations via Bitcoin and Ethereum, according to Bloomberg.

Bornyakov said the 250-strong ministry had been able to find suppliers in Europe and the United States for everything from jackets to food packages, bandages and army night-vision devices, within a matter of time. Two days after Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.

He also mentioned that about 40% of the suppliers are willing to get cryptocurrency as a return. He explained that the remaining 60% is usually paid by converting cryptocurrencies into euros and dollars.

While many companies and crypto startup founders have donated money, Bornyakov said, most of the donations come from the public.

He added that the ministry had also received donations via Tether, Polkadot and Solana coins. It has also received hundreds of non-fungible tokens, or NFTs.

Bornyakov's ministry staff is focused on supporting the country's digital infrastructure while it's under attack, and making sure the government is not spied on.

The ministry has also added the task of collecting and using cryptocurrency donations as part of its work now, as the ministry is currently working with two companies that are designing a set of non-fungible tokens, which can be Ready in less than two weeks, it will raise funds for the Ukrainian war effort, Bornyakov said.
