New York City Mayor Eric Adams earned his first cryptocurrency salary, via a combination of Bitcoin and Ethereum.

According to Arab Net, a media report said that the newly elected New York City Mayor Eric Adams received his first salary in cryptography via direct deposit of the Coin base.

There is hope that an innovation such as cryptocurrency payments will give a boost to job creation, the economy, and boost technical talent, according to Al-Qabas newspaper.

The report added that while New York City continues to be considered the largest financial center in the world, this gesture is appropriate.

Matt Fraser, New York City's chief technology officer, was quoted as saying: "This mayor's move provides a groundbreaking example of how people can be empowered through technology with a more diverse set of options to manage their finances."
