Abu Dhabi Development Company Holding has entered into a final agreement with Wizz Air Holding Company to launch a new joint company for economic aviation in the name of Waze Air Abu Dhabi, where it is scheduled to start operations from Abu Dhabi International Airport this fall.


According to the newspaper, the new company plans to start its flights during the second half of this year, which will combine the provision of low-cost flights and high-quality experiences for travelers on its flights, which will launch to a wide range of destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

This agreement is a milestone for the launch of Waze Air Abu Dhabi as an Emirati airline for economic flights based in Abu Dhabi.


The company is scheduled to start the recruitment process in the coming months. This move is in line with the Development Accelerators Program tomorrow, 21, which works to push the development process of Abu Dhabi to new horizons through investment in business, innovation and society.


According to the agreement concluded between the two parties, the company's development team started its initial work, which included working with the General Authority of Civil Aviation to obtain an air operator certificate and an operating license for the company's operations.

Mohammed Al Suwaidi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Development Holding Company, said: The tourism sector is a high priority in the Abu Dhabi strategy.


The Abu Dhabi government has made the necessary investments to boost this sector, which not only supports airports, but also includes the development of tourism infrastructure, such as hotels, resorts, and cultural monuments across the emirate.


Last year saw a record number of 11.35 million visitors to Abu Dhabi, thanks to the availability of interconnection facilities that facilitate the movement of visitors between different regions of the emirate and at costs that suit different groups.
