The total assets of telecom companies listed in the UAE markets increased by 1.2% to reach 146.8 billion dirhams during the first quarter of 2020 compared to 145.1 billion dirhams in the same period of Year 2019.


According to the Emirates News Agency, the revenues of Etisalat and du from telecommunications services reached about 7.78 billion dirhams at the end of the first quarter of this year, accounting for about 48.3% of the total revenues achieved by the two companies at the end of last March.


Usually revenues from mobile and data services constitute more than 85% of the total revenues of the two companies, according to what the financial data analysis shows.


On the profitability level, the net profits of each of Etisalat and du during the first quarter of this year amounted to about 2.9 billion dirhams, according to the financial statements issued by the two companies.


While the profits of Emirates Telecommunications Company reached 2.534 billion dirhams during the first quarter, the profits of du company amounted to 355 million dirhams.


On the assets side, for Etisalat it reached nearly 130 billion dirhams during the first quarter of this year, and about 16.83 billion dirhams for Du in the same period of observation. On the revenue front, it reached 13.113 billion dirhams for Etisalat from the beginning of this year until the end of March. While it amounted to about AED 2.988 billion dirhams.
