The value of revenue in the consolidated government finance of the UAE increased to reach 304.5 billion dirhams, an increase of 4.8% compared to the same period in 2017.

According to the Emirates News Agency, the value of the government’s surplus amounted to about 67.5 billion dirhams in 2018, according to the latest data issued by the Ministry of Finance.

The Ministry of Finance data attributed the increase to the increase in total consolidated government revenues to approximately 455.5 billion dirhams at the end of 2018, while the value of expenses reached 388.147 billion dirhams.

While the value of expenses increased from 259.3 billion dirhams to 276.2 billion dirhams during the same monitoring period.

It is noteworthy that the significant improvement in oil prices during 2018 in addition to the ongoing public financial reforms to diversify sources of non-energy related revenues contributed to the rise in total consolidated government revenues.
