The Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat) and Huawei signed a strategic partnership contract to deploy integrated 5G network solutions in the UAE this year.
That partnership took place during the World Conference on Mobile Devices, the largest annual meeting for the telecommunications sector, which is currently taking place in Barcelona, Spain, in a four-day event, with the participation of 2000 companies and 100,000 visitors and professionals in the mobile sector.
The event, organized by the International Association of Telecom Operators, is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors.
As part of the agreement, Etisalat will employ the latest 5G network solutions from Huawei, including wireless access networks, core network services and messaging, to ensure seamless adaptation to 5G technology, according to Al Bayan.
The fifth generation network will make an unprecedented shift in the number of applications and solutions, including raising the capabilities of artificial intelligence and improving mobility systems.
The fifth generation technology will enable high speed data transmission with low latency in communication operations as well as enhance machine to machine connections across the UAE.
The fifth generation networks are a new technology of networks, which exceeds the speed of the fourth generation currently used in most countries of the world by about 100 times, and is also characterized by a wider range of coverage, which represents the number of devices and data that can be dealt with at the same moment.
It is expected that the fifth generation technology will generate more than 6.5 billion dollars in commercial opportunities for technology and communications companies in the country by 2026.
