News reports indicated that Saudi Aramco (2222) (one of the world’s leading integrated energy and chemicals companies) has succeeded in fully acquiring Esmax Distribution Company (a leading retailer of fuels and diversified lubricants in Chile).
News reports indicated that this deal (which was first announced in September 2023) represents Saudi Aramco’s first investment in retail operations in South America, which demonstrates the attractiveness of its markets and supports the company’s strategic goal of strengthening its value chain in the refining, chemicals and marketing sector.
In this context, Mr. Yasser Mufti, Executive Vice President of the Business Sector for Products and Customers at Saudi Aramco, said that Aramco has successfully completed the acquisition of Esmax, and we look forward to working with this distinguished team in Chile to achieve the joint ambitions, especially as Aramco seeks to become a major player in the retail sector at the global level.
It is worth noting that Esmax has a presence in the Chilean market, including retail fuel stations, airport operations, fuel distribution stations, and the production and distribution of lubricants.
