The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawwaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, today, Tuesday, re-assigned Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled to form the new government of the country.

It was stated in the Amiri Decree, after reviewing the constitution and our order issued on Rabi` Al-Akhir 21, 1442 AH corresponding to December 6, 2020, to accept the resignation of the Prime Minister and after traditional consultations, we ordered As follows:

First Article - His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah is appointed as Prime Minister and tasked with nominating members of the new cabinet and presenting their names to us to issue a decree of their appointment.

second article - The prime minister must implement this order and report it to the National Assembly, and it shall be enforced from the date of its issuance and published in the Official Gazette.

The Emir of Kuwait held traditional consultations yesterday with a number of ministers and officials in the country, led by Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of the resigned government.

The resignation of the Kuwaiti government came as a routine procedure after the parliamentary elections that took place in the country last Saturday.

Kuwaiti voters had cast their ballots, on Saturday, in elections in which 326 candidates competed to win seats in the 50-member Kuwaiti parliament.
