Nvidia announced a plan to invest $3 billion in Meta after the social media and artificial intelligence company announced plans to raise $95 billion to support investments in super-artificial intelligence.

Meta revealed on Monday that it plans to raise an initial $35 billion through a public offering of shares, before raising an additional $60 billion through an open market share sale program.

The announcement stated that Nvidia, Advanced Micro, and Broadcom are interested in purchasing shares worth up to $5 billion.

Nvidia revealed its investments today, saying that Meta will expand the use of Vera Rubin chips and Vera CPUs, and that the two companies will deepen their partnership on Muse, Meta's AI proxy, which launched last month.

Nvidia President Jin-Sun Huang said in a statement: “AI agents represent a new paradigm for computing, as they are programs that understand our goals, infer, use tools, and accomplish tasks on our behalf.”

He continued: This changes how we use computers, from running applications to working with intelligent agents.

Goldman Sachs had estimated that capital spending related to artificial intelligence could reach $7.6 trillion from the beginning of this year until 2031, including computing, data centers and energy.
