The Sharjah Oil Council announced a new gas discovery in the Hudaybah field, located north of the Sajaa field in the Emirate of Sharjah, with promising economic quantities.

The new field was discovered after the Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) drilled a well in the past months. The well will be tested in the coming period to confirm the quantities and potential reserves of the field for development.

It is noteworthy that the Hudaybah field is the fifth onshore field in Sharjah, to be added to the Sajaa, Kahaif, Mahani and Muwai’id fields, which have been transformed into a gas storage field.

In a separate context, Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) had signed an agreement with Ras Al Khaimah Gas Company, the leading natural gas provider in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK Gas), for gas storage services, on the sidelines of their participation in ADIPEC Week 2023, last October.

This deal highlights the strong energy cooperation in the UAE with a shared goal of providing strategic solutions to the growing energy needs of the country and beyond.

The service agreement effectively addresses the two companies' efforts to ensure gas supplies and efficiently manage seasonal demand.
