According to Arabiya Net, the authority attributed the increase in a statement to the increase in transport prices by 4.6%, and food and beverages by 4.3%.

It stated that the transportation sector was affected by the increase in gasoline prices by 9.5%, and the purchase prices of vehicles by 4.1%, and the rise in this section had a significant impact on the rise in annual inflation in April 2022, given its relative weight in the index of 13% .

The food and beverage sector recorded an increase of 4.3%, affected by an increase in food prices by 4.6%, which was affected by an increase in meat prices by 3.5% and vegetable prices by 13.5%.

The consumer price index for the month of April 2022 recorded a slight increase of 0.4% compared to March 2022, and the monthly inflation was affected by the increase in the food and beverages section by 1.7%, which in turn was affected by the increase in food prices by 1.8%.
