Gold prices fell slightly in trading on Wednesday, as all eyes were on the statements that Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell will make in his congressional testimony.
Powell is scheduled to give semi-annual testimony before the House of Representatives Finance Committee later in the day, during which he may refer to the future of US interest rates.
According to CME VideoWatch, 77% of the Fed is expected to raise interest rates by 25 basis points during the July meeting.
And futures contracts for the yellow metal for August delivery decreased by 0.13%, or $ 2.5, at $ 1945.2 an ounce, at exactly 10:55 am Mecca, and the price of spot delivery decreased slightly at $ 1934.68.
