Hotel establishments in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi achieved a growth of 6.8% in total revenue to reach about 5.83 billion dirhams in 2019 compared to 5.46 billion dirhams in 2018. < / p>


According to the Emirates News Agency, it is clear from the data collected on the sector's activity that 54.9% of the total revenue was from room revenue, while the rest came from food and beverage and other services.


The value of room revenue was approximately 3.2 billion dirhams in 2019, an increase of 11.1%, compared to 2.88 billion dirhams in 2018.


The first quarter of last year witnessed an increase in revenues of hotel establishments to 1.724 billion dirhams, compared to 1.485 billion dirhams in the same quarter of 2018, and revenue increased during the second quarter from 1.165 million dirhams to 1.21 billion dirhams in the same period of comparison.


In the third quarter of 2019, the revenue amounted to 1.058 billion dirhams, compared to 1.04 billion dirhams in the corresponding quarter of 2018, and the fourth quarter of the year witnessed an increase from 1.774 billion dirhams to 1.836 billion dirhams during the same comparison period.


The significant growth in hotel establishments revenue reflects the good activity recorded by the sector, whether in Abu Dhabi or the UAE in general during the past year, which witnessed a large influx of tourists from different countries of the world, according to figures released by the Abu Dhabi Statistics Center.


Several specialized international institutions classify the Emirate of Abu Dhabi among the list of tourist attractions in the Middle East, due to the urban development and services they enjoy in the infrastructure of the tourism sector.


Abu Dhabi had also witnessed the organization of many events during the past year, including the Asian Cup championships, IDEX and NAVDEX exhibitions, the Special Olympics Games, the International Automobile Rally, the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, the Abu Dhabi Challenge Week and other activities that reflected its positive effects on the sector.
