Today, Sunday, December 10, 2023, Saudi Tadawul begins updating the names of 3 sectors and reclassifying some companies listed in the market based on a review of the Global Sector Classification Standard (GICS).

Tadawul announced earlier that, based on the review carried out on the Global Sector Classification Standard (GICS), the names of 3 sectors (the second level) were updated and some companies listed in the main and parallel market were reclassified.

She indicated that the sector updates (level two) included :

- Changing the name of the luxury goods retail sector to luxury goods retail and distribution.

- Changing the name of the food retail sector to consumer goods retail and distribution.

- Changing the name of the investment and finance sector to financial services.

14 companies were reclassified (6 companies in the main market and 8 companies in the parallel market), as follows:

Main market :

- The Saudi Company for the Production of Clay Pipes (Pottery) moved to the basic materials sector - the first level, basic materials - the second level.

- The transfer of Al-Hassan Ghazi Ibrahim Shaker Company (Shaker) to the industrial sector - the first level, capital goods - the second level.

- Sinad Holding Company (Sinad Holding) moved to the basic consumer goods sector - the first level, food production - the second level.

- BATC Investment and Logistics Company (BATC) moved to the capital goods sector - level two.

- Amlak International Finance Company (Amlak) moved to the financial services sector - level two.

- Sahl Finance Company (Sahl) moved to the financial services sector - level two.

- Mobi Industries Company (Mobi) moves to the basic consumer goods sector - the first level, and household and personal products - the second level.

- Al Razi Medical Company (Al Razi) moved to the health sector - first level, health care - second level.
