A Moscow court has fined Google 15 million rubles ($260,000) for refusing to comply with Russian law requiring technology companies to localize user data, according to the Russian TASS news agency.
According to Arab Net, Russia has imposed multiple fines on American technology companies in recent years, due to a series of violations of the country's strict Internet laws.
Last April, a Russian court fined Twitter 3 million rubles ($41,000) for failing to remove content prohibited in Russia, Interfax news agency reported.
