The Saudi Company for Drug Industries and Medical Appliances (SPIMACO) signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with the German company CureVac, to provide the Coronavirus vaccine in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, This is after the approval of the Ministry of Health and the Food and Drug General Authority.

According to Arabiya Net, the company said in a statement that, according to the memorandum of understanding, SPIMACO is applying to obtain the necessary approvals from the Ministry of Health and the Food and Drug Authority for all Regulatory requirements related to the registration, supply and distribution of the vaccine, and then final agreement on the commercial terms.

The memorandum of understanding included the possibility of extending supply and distribution rights later to also include the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman.

It is worth noting that the vaccine is characterized by its routine storage conditions (2-8) degrees Celsius, which facilitates transportation and storage.

and the German company CureVac carried out successful clinical studies in the first and clinical dosing phase and obtained supportive results for the completion of the third phase of clinical studies to be presented Registration file to the European Medicines Agency (EMA) during the first quarter of 2021 according to the plan established by the company.

And the Saudi Ministry of Health announced, on Monday, that the Corona vaccine will be available to all citizens and residents in the Kingdom free of charge.
