Dubai Financial Market announced updating the weights of companies included in the general index, starting from today's trading session, Monday.

He stressed that the updates included: Emirates NBD, Dubai Islamic Bank, Dubai Electricity and Water Company, and Emaar Properties in first place, as the largest companies with a weight in the index at 10 percent, followed by Dubai Commercial Bank in second place at 6.50 percent.

It is noteworthy that the company's weight in the index is measured by the number of free shares available for trading, after excluding government shares and total ownerships of 5 percent or more of the company's capital.

On December 18, the Dubai Financial Market announced an update to the weights of companies included in the general index.

According to the update, Emirates NBD, Dubai Islamic Bank, Dubai Electricity and Water Company, and Emaar Properties took first place as the largest companies in the index with a weight of 10 percent, followed by Air Arabia in second place with a weight of 6.19 percent.

It is noteworthy that the company's weight in the index is measured by the number of free shares available for trading, after excluding government shares and total ownerships of 5 percent or more in the company's capital.
