The National Marine Dredging Company announced that it had won a contract worth 1.3 billion dirhams from Abu Dhabi Ports for the engineering and construction of marine works for the project to develop the northern side of Khalifa Port in the United Arab Emirates.

The project is part of the Khalifa Port in the Al Taweelah area of ​​Abu Dhabi, midway between the ports of Zayed and Jebel Ali, which is built on an artificial reclaimed island 4.5 kilometers from the shore According to Al Bayan newspaper.

The CEO of Marine Dredging, Yasser Zagloul, said: “The contract is part of our strategic plans to expand our operations in the UAE and abroad; As we plan for 2022 and the coming years to enter new markets and implement pioneering projects.”

For his part, the managing director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, Mohammed Al Shamsi, said: "Supporting our future plans for growth and accelerating commercial operations through Khalifa Port, it consolidates its international and regional position. As a vital center for the trade and logistics sector.”

Al Shamsi added: "The contract works include dredging 16.8 million cubic meters of earth, establishing a separate breakwater with a length of 3.8 kilometers, in addition to leveling the land with an area of ​​one million square meters. . The entire project is scheduled to be completed by October 2023.”
