The number of guests that Emirates hotels received during the year 2019 reached about 26.5 million visitors, compared to 25.55 million visitors during the year 2018, with growth of approximately 4%.


According to Al Khaleej newspaper, the total revenue of hotel establishments in the UAE during the past year, according to preliminary estimates, amounts to approximately 31 billion dirhams, compared to 31.3 billion dirhams during the year 2018.


International visitors and tourists constitute approximately 84% of the total hotel guests in the UAE with about 21.5 million visitors and the rest from the local market.


The tourism sector in Dubai received more than 16.73 million international tourists for one night during the year 2019, with a growth of 5.1%, compared to 15.92 million international visitors during the year 2018. Hotel occupancy rates maintained high levels, reaching about 75% in 2019, compared to 76% in 2018, with the entry of a number of new hotel units.


The number of nights spent by visitors increased by 6.6% to 32.11 million nights in 2019, compared to 30.13 million hotel nights in 2018, while the average stay per guest grew by 3.4 nights.
