Mubadala, one of Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth funds, announced that it has invested in London-based Yondr Group, alongside Apollo, an alternative investment management company, through funds managed by Apollo, according to a press release on Wednesday.
Yonder Group provides scalable data center infrastructure for technology companies, with 878 MW of contracted and dedicated capacity, and 58 MW currently in operation.
Mubadala did not disclose the value of the deal in the statement.
In February 2022, Mubadala announced the expansion of its global partnership with Apollo Global Management, one of the world’s largest alternative asset managers.
Mubadala is rapidly expanding its global digital infrastructure portfolio. In May 2023, it committed $500 million to US broadband services company Brightspeed.
In 2022, it invested $350 million in Asian data center operator Princeton Digital Group, as well as £800 million in CityFibre in the UK.
Data center companies are attracting strong interest from investors, in part because they target stable returns and expectations of continued growth as technology adoption increases.
