ADNOC Distribution has launched the world’s sixth largest ultra-fast electric vehicle charging complex.

The complex includes 60 ultra-fast charging points capable of charging most electric vehicles from 0 to 80% in about 20 minutes, making it the largest complex of its kind in the Middle East, Africa and Turkey region.

According to its statement to the Abu Dhabi market, ADNOC Distribution plans to open 20 electric vehicle fast charging complexes by the end of 2027, including 15 complexes expected to open by the end of 2026 on main national roads, enabling electric vehicles to travel easily and over long distances, and supporting the country’s goals in the transition towards smart and sustainable mobility.

It is noted that the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has set a goal of increasing the percentage of electric vehicles to 50% of the total vehicles on the country’s roads by 2050.

ADNOC Distribution is one of the largest operators of electric vehicle charging points in the UAE, with its network currently comprising 400 charging points, and an expansion plan to reach 750 charging points by 2028.
