The financial statements of the Kuwait Telecom Company (STC) showed an increase in the company's profits in the first half of this year by 4% year on year.

According to the company's results for the Kuwaiti Stock Exchange, today, Monday, the profits for the period amounted to 16.497 million dinars, compared to profits for the half of 2020 of 15.890 million dinars.

The higher profits during the comparison periods are the result of lower costs and lower bad debts, the company said in a statement to the stock exchange.

The company's total operating income in the first half of this year amounted to about 139.426 million dinars, compared to 136.388 million dinars for the same period in 2020, an increase of 2%.

The company achieved profits of 8.475 million dinars in the second quarter of this year, compared to 9.345 million dinars in profits for the same period last year, a decrease of 9%.

The company's profits rose by 23% in the first quarter of this year; To reach 8.022 million dinars, compared to profits for the first quarter of 2020 of 6.545 million dinars.
