The number of buildings that Empower supplies to refrigeration services reached 1180 buildings by the end of 2019, with a growth rate of 8.25% compared to 2018.


According to the Emirates News Agency, Empower's performance showed great growth during the past seven years, as the growth rate in the number of buildings reached 269%, as the total number of buildings connected to Empower stations increased to 1180 buildings by the end of 2019 compared to 320 buildings in 2012.


Ahmed Bin Shafar, Chief Executive Officer of Empower, said that Dubai Development’s renaissance has cemented the trends of the real estate development industry in adopting energy efficiency solutions to ensure greater protection for the environment and resources for future generations, explaining that 70% of the total production of electric energy in the UAE is consumed in the cooling operations and from here comes The importance of adopting district cooling services solutions, as it provides 50% of that energy used, which is in line with the Dubai Clean Energy vision and strategy 2050 aimed at transforming the emirate into a global center for clean energy and green economy and strengthening its position to become the least global city in the carbon footprint Intent.
