After last week’s positives, European markets rose slightly on Monday, with the pan-European Stoxx 600 index closing 0.17% higher, slightly improving from a negative morning session. Mining stocks led the losses, falling 1%, while healthcare stocks rose 0.95%.

The index rose 0.17% after rising 1.4% last week.

The UK's FTSE 100 rose 0.22%, although France's CAC 40 was flat and Germany's DAX fell 0.15%.

Shares of Swiss software company Temenos rose 8.8% on Monday, rebounding from sharp losses late last week following a report from Hindenburg Research of short-selling.

In Asia-Pacific overnight, stock markets in China rose as traders returned from the Lunar New Year holiday on Monday amid upbeat travel data, while Hong Kong shares fell.
