El Salvador's Bitcoin (BTC) adoption campaign faced its first hitch after citizens reported problems downloading and operating the state-run Chifu wallet.

While removing the wallet shortly after it went live, Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele later announced that all issues with the Bitcoin wallet had been fixed.

He tweeted: We finished up our Chivu wallet today. Report any bugs here, in the comments.

Shortly after El Salvador implemented the Bitcoin code, the Chivu Wallet was launched in major app stores, including Google Play, Huawei Apple Gallery and Apple App Store.< /p>

After numerous user reports of system crashes and download issues, Bukele announced a maintenance period to improve user experience and fix reported issues: We will be unplugging the system from 1:00 AM to 6 AM to make these adjustments...our teams are ready...hopefully for a much better tomorrow.

Currently, Chifu Wallet will be supported in the Google Play Store only for Samsung Galaxy S20 and Samsung Galaxy S21 devices.

While resuming service, the Salvadoran authorities asked citizens to report technical issues related to Chivo which will be addressed in order to improve everyone's experience.
