Facebook is facing lawsuits by the US Federal Trade Commission and most US states for violating the Anti-Monopoly Act.

According to Reuters, the Federal Trade Commission said in a statement that it will seek to obtain a ruling that could include: mandatory exit of assets, including Instagram and WhatsApp.

In a second lawsuit, a coalition of 46 states, Washington, DC, and Guam is demanding a ruling stating that Facebook's acquisition of Instagram and WhatsApp is illegal.

and thus Facebook became the second large tech company to face a massive court action this fall.

The US Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Google in October, accusing the company, which is worth a trillion dollars and belongs to the Alphabet Group, of exploiting its strong position in the market to clamp down on Competitors.

These cases are the largest in the field of antitrust for many years, and can be compared to the case faced by Microsoft in 1998. The federal government eventually reached a settlement in that case But years of litigation and antitrust scrutiny have prevented the company from aborting competitors and is credited with facilitating the explosive growth of the Internet.
