US billionaire Elon Musk announced in a tweet that Twitter will remain free for ordinary users, but may charge small fees for commercial and government use.

According to Arabiya Net, Musk is seeking to increase the number of users of the popular social networking platform in the United States.

Twitter has not yet responded to a request for comment from Reuters.

Since last month, Musk has been talking about a bunch of changes to Twitter.

Having recently acquired the company, Musk said he wanted to improve the platform and add new elements.

On Tuesday, Musk said he was seeking to make Twitter a broad and reliable service as a system, and inclusive of all groups.

He added: We in (Twitter) are in a war to correct the course, stressing that Twitter should not be a platform to deceive people for their money.
