The total revenue of hotel establishments reached 5.8 billion dirhams in 2019, an increase of 6.6% compared to 5.46 billion dirhams in 2018.
The largest part of the sector’s revenue came from room revenue, which reached about 3.2 billion dirhams in 2019, a growth of 10.6% compared to 2.88 billion dirhams in 2018 .. While the rest of the revenue came from food and beverage services and other services.
Abu Dhabi Statistics Center figures showed that the number of hotel guests in Abu Dhabi reached 4.693 million during the year 2019, while the number of hotel apartments reached 444 thousand guests .. The number of rooms in hotels is 27,146 rooms .. And the number of hotel apartments reached 5672 apartments.
The hotel occupancy rate increased to 71%, jumping to 80% in hotel apartments, according to the Abu Dhabi Statistics Center.
The city of Abu Dhabi was the most active in the sector, after the number of guests in its hotel facilities reached 4,499 million, while the number in Al Ain reached 500 thousand and 137 thousand in the Al Dhafra region.
