The International Monetary Fund said it had reached an agreement with Sudan regarding the structural reforms of the macroeconomic policies that will support a 12-month program that is subject to monitoring by the fund.

A team from the International Monetary Fund led by Daniel Kanda had held virtual meetings with the Sudanese authorities from June 8 to June 21; To discuss the government’s reform package.

The fund statement quoted Kanda as saying at the end of the team’s mission, the Sudanese authorities and the IMF team had reached agreement on policies and reforms that could support a program monitored by the fund, in Awaiting approval from the IMF management and its Executive Board.

As the Sudanese economy faces the risk of collapse, the government is pinning its hopes on a possible donors conference in Berlin this week.
