The International Air Transport Association (IATA) forecasts for global aviation sector losses have risen to $201 billion over the three years from 2020 to 2022.

According to Arab Net, in its latest report on the expectations of the financial performance of the aviation sector, the Federation stated that the net losses of the aviation sector will decrease in 2022 to 11.6 billion dollars.

At the same time, IATA raised its forecast for 2021 losses to $51.8 billion, from $47.7 billion estimated in the previous report published last April.

Estimated net losses for 2020 were also revised to $137.7 billion, from $126.4 billion in the previous report.

The report predicted that the total number of passengers will reach 2.3 billion in 2021, and will rise to 3.4 billion in 2022, similar to 2014 levels and much less than 4.5 1 billion passengers in 2019.
