Walid al-Subaie, a member of the Travel and Tourism Council at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Saudi Arabia, said that the air transport sector in the world incurred direct and indirect losses estimated at between 10 to 12 billion dollars. Daily.

According to Arabia Net, Al-Subaie confirmed that the tourism and private aviation sectors have been completely paralyzed.

He pointed out that the losses of the aviation sector in Saudi Arabia are estimated at about 200 million riyals per day, equivalent to 6 billion riyals per month, due to the repercussions of confronting the emerging Corona virus, as a benefit of 19 countries that cover the world.

Al-Subaie described the loss as painful for all, but he preached that the measures to adapt to the new situation in light of the exceptional crisis, began to appear with the beginning of coexistence with the preventive measures, and according to the IATA announcement yesterday to work to resume 30% of the total air transport under the current preventive conditions. < / p>

He considered that government intervention continues at the world level, and work is progressing gradually, as commercial aviation is the backbone of economic activities in the world.

He said that Saudi Arabia will not allow a collapse in any airline in Saudi Arabia, explaining that the driving procedures in the Kingdom were clear in supporting the economic sectors and forming direct support committees for the economy, including activities related to aviation.

He also presented estimates by the IATA Association that there is a need for direct support to airlines around the world of $ 200 billion.

He added that Saudi Arabia attaches this aspect to the interest represented in providing a lot of support on the operational side of airlines, and support for insurance, salaries, and others.

For its part, the International Air Transport Association expected the coming weeks to be more difficult and worse than the weeks that passed for the global aviation sector, expecting airlines to lose $ 39 billion in the current quarter and $ 252 billion in revenue this year.

It is reported that several countries have come forward to help the airlines that suffer from the severe consequences of the Corona outbreak.

Most notably, the United States has provided a $ 58 billion bailout for this purpose.

In the Emirates, Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum announced that the emirate would pump new capital into Emirates Airlines, which temporarily reduced the salaries of its employees but announced that it would not spend any of them.
