Air Arabia announced the layoffs of 57 employees due to the impact of the Corona Virus pandemic, which hindered travel.

According to Al-Bayan, the company has stopped its regular flights to transport passengers since March, and it is not yet clear when the services will return to their normal range.

Unfortunately, we have had to make the decision to fire a limited number of our employees this week. This is the first time in our history that we have had to do that taking into account the reality of the market today.

The company did not disclose the divisions from which employees were dismissed.

The spokesman said that the company had taken measures since the outbreak of the disease to maintain jobs, but he did not disclose details.

He added: "We will continue to do everything possible to protect our employees by keeping job cuts at a minimum and as a last resort.

In an end-of-service letter seen by Reuters, Air Arabia said that the impact of the pandemic on global aviation is expected to continue for a long period of time.
