Abu Dhabi's non-oil foreign trade achieved a value of 213.3 billion dirhams in 2019.


According to the Emirates News Agency, Abu Dhabi Statistics Center reports showed that last year witnessed a remarkable activity of re-export trade in the emirate, which amounted to about 52.8 billion dirhams, an increase of 9.8% compared to the same period of 2018.


The consumer rationalization process in Abu Dhabi continued, as was evident from the decrease in the Emirate's imports in 2019, which amounted to approximately 102.5 billion dirhams.


While the value of exports reached about 58 billion dirhams.


The figures issued by the Statistics Center showed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continued to occupy the first position in the list of most countries trading with Abu Dhabi during the year 2019, as the value of trade exchange between the two sides reached 55.3 billion dirhams.


The United States of America ranked second with a value of 13.16 billion dirhams last year, then China with 11.5 billion dirhams, Japan 10.65 billion dirhams and Kuwait 10.3 billion dirhams.


According to the standards followed by the Statistics Center, non-oil merchandise trade is limited to commodities that have entered only from the land, sea and air ports of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi or exited from them, which means that they do not represent all of Abu Dhabi's non-oil trade with the world.


The industrial supplies came first in the list of most exported goods, with value during the year 2019 amounting to about 45 billion dirhams, while the value of food and beverage exports reached 6 billion dirhams and about 3.43 billion dirhams for consumer goods and 2.33 billion dirhams for productive goods and the rest of the value was distributed to other exports.


In terms of re-export trade, transportation equipment and accessories came first with a value of 24.11 billion dirhams, followed by consumer goods 10.13 billion dirhams, then productive goods worth approximately 9.8 billion dirhams.


On the level of imports, the industrial supplies trade came first with a value of 43 billion dirhams, while the value of Abu Dhabi's imports of transport equipment and accessories reached 24.61 billion dirhams, about 16.1 billion dirhams for productive goods, 11.8 billion dirhams for consumer goods and 6.15 billion dirhams for food and beverages.
